Otter Boys Outshoot Storm 43-32 but Lose 3-2

Fergus Falls outshot Sauk Rapids-Rice 43-32 on Thursday night at the Community Ice Arena, however, the Storm came out on top 3-2. 

 

Mason Wiebusch scored from Connor Cariveau and Daymin Dodge with just seven seconds left in the first period to give the visitors a 1-0 lead that stood up through a scoreless second period. 

The Otters got on the board at 8:22 of the third when Declan Young scored from Andrew Johnson. Johnson and Mike DeBrito both assisted on a goal by Isaac Young at 12:51, giving the Otters a 2-1 lead. Sauk Rapids-Rice tied the game at 13:06 when Chase Christenson scored from Brandon Bokelman. Bokelman scored the game winner from Drake Raduns-Parsley with only 25 seconds remaining in the game. 

Sauk Rapids-Rice goaltender Riley Weinand stopped 41 Fergus Falls shots on goal, while Scott Van Voorhis came up with 29 saves in the Otter net. 

Fergus Falls (5-8-2) will host Hutchinson in a 3:00pm game on Saturday.
