The Otter 10U A’s traveled to East Grand Forks over the weekend, where they would come away with two decisive wins.

In the first matchup, Lydia Johnson started the scoring with an unassisted goal 3 minutes into the first period. Also scoring unassisted in the first were Maddison Brimhall & Rachel DeBrito. DeBrito sent another one past the goalie to open the second, followed by Brook Zierden with her first goal of the season. Averie Tonneson assisted on the Zierden goal, and also on the final of the game, which was scored by Maggie Greenagel. Otter goalie Olivia Jurgens earned another shutout win with 12 saves.

After a quick lunch break, the girls hit the ice for round two of the double-header. This time, it was Katie Bergren who hit the scoreboard first, with an unassisted goal in the first two minutes. Then, Bergren also provided the feed on a Shay Katzenmeyer goal to round out the period. In the second, the Otters came out guns blazing: 18 shots were put on goal, with 5 of which finding the back of the net. Lighting the lamp in the second were Tonneson, Greenagel, Bergren, DeBrito, and Evelyn Wedll. Zierden and Brimhall earned assists. In the third, in her first appearance outside of the net, Jurgens scored her first goal of the season with an assist from Greenagel. Greenagel would go on to score two more to close out the scoring for the Otters, and also to complete her Hat Trick for the game. Getting her first start in net, Johnson was nearly perfect, with the only goal allowed taking place inside of 3 minutes remaining.

Next, the 10U A Otters and their entourage travel to Thief River Falls, where they will participate in tournament play against Bismarck, West Fargo and Thief River.
