Four Goal Third Period Carries Sartell Past Otter Boys 6-2

The Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres broke open a 2-2 game with a four goal third period, handing the Fergus Falls boys hockey team a 6-2 loss on the Otters home ice on Tuesday night. 

Nick Plautz scored a pair of first period goals to put the visitors in front 2-0. Austin Adelman and Connor Kalthoff assisted on the first goal by Plautz, while Hayden Walters and Camerson Cromwell assisted on his second goal. 

Declan Young got the Otters on the board at 14:49 of the second period with assists from Aaron Shelstad and Isaac Ahlgren. An unassisted tally by Chase Jensen at 15:48 tied the game at 2-2. 

A goal by Maddux Hagy 1:18 into the third period gave the Sabres a 3-2 advantage. Jack Henneman and Plautz assisted on the goal. Walters made it 4-2 with a power play goal from Kalthoff and Ryan Zulkosky at 6:19. Nathan Stoebeassisted on a goal by Will Schiffler at 8:47 and Hagy added a power play goal from Kalthoff to close out the scoring at 13:46. 

Sartell-St. Stephen put 31 shots on goal and the Otters had 18 shots on the night.
