The Underwood boys basketball team made 13-of-14 free throws, including all ten of their second half foul shots, as they overcame a one point halftime deficit to beat the Rothsay Tigers 49-45 on Thursday night in Underwood.

"I couldn't be prouder of the way the boys played tonight on both ends of the court," said Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece.  "They really went out there and everyone played as one team and put together a full team effort for 36 minutes.  Defensively, we were stellar and held them to limited second chances and contested every shot.  Offensively, we played our game and worked to get a high percentage show and took care of the ball extremely well.  We ended the game by making 10-for-10 free throws in the second half, including six key ones in the last few minutes.  This was a really great team win and really showed how well we can play as a team when we play as one.  We look forward to building off this going into our matchup with Ortonville tomorrow night."

Leaders for Underwood were Krosby Aasness with 11, Winston Heifort with 10 and Daxton Olson with 10.  Nick Seiple added 9 points for the Rockets.

Rothsay was led by Tanner Heier with 17 and Colby Larson with 13.  Tanner Tallerud contributed 8 points for the Tigers.

Underwood (2-5) will play at Ortonville Friday night, while Rothsay (0-8) visits Hancock on Monday.
