The Alexandria girls basketball team ran their unbeaten streak to ten games with a 53-39 win over Fergus Falls on Thursday night in Alexandria.  The Cardinals closed the game on an 18-4 run to take control of a game that was tied seven times and featured six lead changes.  The Otters led 22-19 at the half but were outscored 34-17 in the second half.

"They are a very good basketball team and their defensive intensity made it difficult for us to execute our offense," said Fergus Falls Head Coach Brad Strand.  "In the second half they didn't miss many shots and we had a stretch of about seven minutes where we failed to score a point."

Ellie Colbeck led the Otters with 15 points and 5 assists.  Lily Pearson added 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Sabrina Fronning contributed 4 points, 8 rebounds and a pair of steals.

Alexandria placed three players in double digits, led by Ella Grove with 12.  Emily Jones added 11 and Kaye Paschka scored 10.  Kenzie Duwenhoegger and Mia McGrane scored 8 and 7 points, respectively.

Fergus Falls ran their JV record to 9-0 with a 47-47 victory.  Anna Anderson led the way with 13 points and Svea Smestad scored 9.

The Otter B team won 44-16, holding Alexandria to five first half points.  Ainsley Hansen and Hannah Polejewski scored six points apiece.

Fergus Falls (8-2) will travel to Willmar on Tuesday night for a Central Lakes Conference contest.
