Trojans Bounce Back with Win Over Rothsay

The Barnesville boys basketball team held Rothsay to sixteen points in each half on Saturday at Concordia College in Moorhead as they handed the Tigers a 75-32 defeat. 

 

Barnesville shot 48% (28-58) from the field and held a 37-27 edge on the boards. The Trojans forced 28 Rothsay turnovers which led to 25 points. 

“We had a pair of great runs in the first half that gave us a huge lead,” reported Barnesville Assistant Coach Tracy Hinsz. “Kellen Hinsz scored 9 straight points during a 12-0 run and Sam Askegaard scored 12 points during a 17-0 run late in the first half. We felt a lot more comfortable on the court today.” 

Sam Askegaard made 6-of-9 shots from the floor and led the Trojans with 15 points. Hunter Zenzen recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Grant Inniger was 4-of-5 from the field and finished with a solid stat line of 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Kellen Hinsz scored 9 points and Adam Tonsfeldthad 7 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. 

Rothsay was 12-for-41 (29%) from the field.
