The Frazee girls basketball team finished their 46-44 win over Battle Lake on a 17-4 run Friday afternoon in the opening round of the Minnesota National Bank Holiday Classic in Pelican Rapids.  The Battlers had ended the first half on a 12-0 run to take a 21-20 halftime lead and led for most of the second half before Frazee rattled off 14 straight points to take a 43-40 lead.

The two teams were even on the boards with 46 rebounds apiece.  Battle Lake had 30 turnovers on the afternoon and Frazee turned the ball over 32 times.

"We got off to a real slow start shooting and fell behind early," reported Battle Lake Head Coach David Marso.  "We made a nice run at the end of the first half and were able to take a one point halftime lead.  In the second half we were able to stretch our lead to ten points, but would relinquish that lead late in the game."

McKenna Tysdal (11 points, 8 rebounds, 5/6 FT) and Allison Marso (11 points, 7 rebounds, 3-3's) were both in double figures for the Battlers.  Grace VanErp added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists, and Halie Johnson grabbed 8 rebounds.

Leaders for Frazee were Ellie Reierson (10 points, 8 rebounds), Madison Starry(9 points), Talia Gabrielson (7 points, 10 rebounds) and Harley Kropuenske (6 points, 8 rebounds).

Battle Lake will face Breckenridge at 11:00am Saturday in Pelican Rapids.  Frazee will take on Underwood at 4:15pm Saturday.
