Otter Girls Open Holiday Tourney with 3-2 Win Over Bismarck

The Fergus Falls girls hockey team opened play in the Mid-Winter Border Battle Tournament in Minneapolis on Thursday with a 3-2 win over Bismarck, North Dakota.  Jadyn McKeever stopped 20 shots on goal and the Otters put 20 shots on the Bismarck net.

 

Bismarck struck first when Madison Brown scored from Noelle Martin at 10:49 of the first period.

The Otters pulled even just 21 seconds into the second period on a power play goal by Sophie Rausch, assisted by Hallie Sheridan.  At the ten minute mark of the period Piper Andrews put the Otters ahead 2-1 with assists from Chloe Nelsonand Liz Mattson.  Fergus Falls completed their three goal second period with 2:47 remaining on a power play goal from Amy Johnson, assisted by Nelson.

Bismarck scored the last goal of the game with 2:29 left in the final period.  Taylor Lenertz scored from Jayda Krikorian.

Fergus Falls (10-4) will now play Blaine on Friday at 5:00pm at Fogerty Arena.
