Knights Move to 3-1 with Win Over CGB

The West Central Area Knights defeated the Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Wolverines 65-30 on their home floor in Barrett on Friday night.  The Knights led 32-12 at the half. 

The Knights hit 26-47 shots for 55% while the Wolverines made only 10-44 for 23%.  The Knights were 9-15 from the line and CGB was 5-12. 

The Knights held a 35-24 rebounding edge. 

Knight Coach Kraig Hunter said, "It was a good game for us to go against a zone.  Later in the first half and during the second half, we started finding the seams and had some nice looks for some easy baskets.  It was good unselfish play by our team.  We were also able to get all of our players some good minutes in this game." 

The Knights placed four players in double figures led by Gage Staples (11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists), Jacob Bright 11 points (perfect 4-4 shooting from the floor), Teigen Moritz (10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals), and Grant Beuckens (10 points and 4 assists). 

Jack VanKempen chipped in 8 points, Kyle Schill 6 points, Gavin Paulson 4 points, Brady Reeve 2 points, Blake Koloski 2 points, and Tate Christenson 1 point. 

Coach Hunter said, "Tate Christenson and Blake Koloski are really the guys that sparked us tonight.  Tate had 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals and Blake had 6 assists and 3 steals.  They were great in the open court and those nice passes are really got us some easy baskets which led to a couple of big runs for us to open up a substantial lead." 

Scoring for CGB was Caleb Cardwell 8, Cole Gilsdorf 6, Nate Moberg 5, Sam Adelman 4, Sammy Stattleman 3, Charles Kliendl 3, and Isaac Hannen 1.
