The Brainerd girls basketball team jumped out to a 6-0 lead over the Fergus Falls Otters on Thursday night, but the Otters answered with ten straight points and eventually opened up a twelve point lead.  The Otters led 29-20 at the half, but the Warriors battled back to within a point at 41-40 before a ten point Fergus Falls run pushed the lead back to double digits as the Otters secured a 56-49 victory for their fifth straight win.

"I was super impressed by the effort our girls showed throughout this game," said Fergus Falls Head Coach Brad Strand.  "We battled through some adversity when they made their run in the second half and then hit some big shots.  It was a great road win against a very well-coached Brainerd team."

Ellie Colbeck led the Otters with 20 points and Tori Ratz connected on five three-pointers on her way to a 17 point performance.  Lily Pearson registered a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds).  Sabrina Fronning added 4 points, 5 steals, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.  The Otters made 10-of-13 free throws in the game.

Brainerd was 11-for-13 on the line.  The Warriors were led by freshman Olivia Tautges with 15 points and sophomore Lily Horn with 10.  Senior Courtney Russell finished with 9 points.

The Otter JV team improved to 6-0 with a 57-44 win. They were led by Anna Anderson who made six 3's on the way to a 24 point performance.  Andreya Lockett added 11 points.

The C team is also 6-0  after their 49-27 win.  Katie Strommen had 14 points, while Hannah Polejewski and Ainsley Hansen finished with 12 points each.
