The Brandon-Evansville girls basketball team hosted Rothsay in a Little Eight Conference contest on Friday night in Brandon. The Chargers defeated the Tigers 56-28.

Haddey Zastrow scored 14 points and Sara Jacobson contributed 10 points for Brandon-Evansville. The Chargers made seven 3’s, including three by Zastrow.

“Our strong defensive play continued, but we struggled to score early,” reported B-E Head Coach Sam Lange. “We were able to get the scoring going late in the first half when we got the ball inside and got to the free throw line. With two injured our depth showed up again and it was overall a great team win with all 11 players scoring.”

Jayna Gronewold scored 14 points to lead Rothsay and Jenna Fabre added 9 points.

The Chargers have won three straight games, improving to 3-1 on the season. They will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Monday night.
