Haire and Erlandson Win Titles for Cowboys at Barnesville Invite

The Breckenridge Cowboys crowned two champions at the Barnesville Wrestling Invitational on Saturday. 

Zach Haire won the title at 120 pounds, recording a technical fall win in the quarterfinals against Alexander Spray of Sheyenne, ND, beating Caleb Nielsen of Lisbon, ND, 2-1 in the semifinals and then taking a thrilling 6-4 decision over Chase Brenner of Barnesville in his championship match. 

Daniel Erlandson claimed the 195 pound title, winning his preliminary round match 8-2 over Junior Surpis of Fargo North, taking a 6-4 decision from Sean Thompson of Fargo South in the quarterfinals, earning a 6-4 decision from Shane Kennedy of Sheyenne, ND in the semifinals and then pinning Lisbon, ND wrestler Gavin Reinke in the title match. 

Tanner Differding ended up third at 220. He received a bye into the semifinals, but was pinned by Jackson Poepping of Barnesville in that match. He rebounded nicely, taking third place with a pin of Conner Liedberg of Fargo North.

Dylan Pearson was fourth at 145, winning his quarterfinal round match by pin over Brock Peterson of Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale-Parkers Prairie, losing by pin to Hunter Schwab of Lisbon, ND in the semifinals and then falling 9-6 to Kellan Kliner of Fargo North in the third place match.
