The Pelican Rapids girls basketball team remained unbeaten in three games to start the season. On Friday night the Vikings won their Heart O' Lakes Conference opener over DGF, 78-60. They managed to shoot 52% from the field and made 79% of their free throws, while DGF shot only 38% from the field and 60% on the foul line.
The Vikings held a 43-23 lead at halftime and never looked back. Adriana Torres poured in 32 points, dished out six assists and hauled in 7 rebounds for Pelican Rapids. Kaylie Isaman scored 26 and assisted on four baskets, Sarah Thompson added 6 assists and 8 rebounds and Greta Tollefson had 4 assists and 5 rebounds.
Next Friday the Vikings will host Barnesville in a boy/girl double header with the boys playing around 8pm. The two boys teams will play the finale of the night.
