“We struggled to take care of the ball and box out which Northland was able to capitalize on, scoring 58 of their 75 points off 2nd chance points and points off turnovers,” said Head Coach Janice Hendrickson of M State. “As a team we need to have a quick rebound and refocus for tomorrow's game at Itasca.”
The Pioneers were led by Carly Mekash (20 points, 7 rebounds) and Brooke Heggie (16 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists). Mya Hough chipped in with 9 points, while adding 8 boards.
Alexa Mortenson was strong on the boards for M State, pulling down a game high 13 rebounds and Sydney Hovland scored a game high 22 points. Taylin Schleicher added 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
M State will face Itasca on Saturday afternoon at one o’clock in Grand Rapids.
