Canaan Kugler set a new Underwood school record with eight 3-point field goals in the Rockets 68-39 victory over Bertha-Hewitt on Tuesday night in Underwood. Kugler led the Rockets with 29 points and was joined in double figures by Winston Heifort with 11 points. The Rockets led 33-20 at the half and outscored the Bears 35-19 over the final eighteen minutes.

Nick Seiple scored 8 points, Daxton Olson and Krosby Aasness added 7 each and Logan Nelson chipped in with six.

"This was a great way to start the season off on a high note,” stated Head Coach Evan Meece.  “Hats off to Canaan Kugler, who set a new school record with 8 three pointers in the game. I am very proud of the way he and the entire team played tonight.  We had a great team effort in the victory tonight, especially on the defensive side of the ball.  Holding our opponent to 39 points was huge in the victory.  Offensively, we took care of the ball and got good open looks and took advantage of them when we could.  Using this as a stepping stone, if we continue to play our game and do the little things right, good things will continue to happen."

Christian Baumgartner scored ten points to lead Bertha-Hewitt.
