The Underwood Rockets held New York Mills to just 28 points on Tuesday night as they opened their home season with a 47-28 victory.  Underwood led 20-16 at the half and outscored the Eagles 27-12 over the final 18 minutes of the game.

"Our defense controlled the game and we also didn't get into foul trouble which really helped," said Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  "We also had some girls play really well off the bench.  We had too many turnovers early on but that got better as the game went on."

Kayla Rocholl (18 points, 2 steals, 3 rebounds) led the Rockets, who shot 36% (16-44) from the floor and 63% (14-22) from the free throw line.  Ceri Meech (9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals), Morgan Evavold (7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals), Brooke Hovland (5 points, 5 steals) and Josey Bugbee (6 rebounds, 3 rebounds, 3 steals) also contributed to the win.

The Rockets will travel to play Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal on Thursday night.
