With the loss of four starters to graduation there are plenty of opportunities available to members of the Brandon-Evansville boys basketball team.

"With the amount of varsity experience we lost from last year I think it's hard right now to say what our strengths or weaknesses will be this season," commented second year head coach Trent Hintermeister.  "I know that we will do our best to get the most out of every player each night.  I'm looking forward to watching these young men improve each day.  We have some really great guys on this years team."

Eli Anderson (C) and Abe Huisman (F) are the only two seniors on the squad.  Juniors Tanner BItzan (G),  Marshall Riedel (G), Andrew Perrin (F), Zack Haugen (G), Keagan Schiele (G), Seth Stelzer (G) Tony Schaffran (F), Sam Fuller (F), Andrew Johnson (F) and Jesse Perleberg (F) and freshman Titus Fuller (F) will all be in the varsity mix.

"We do have a handful of guys who played some varsity minutes last season that we will count on to be our leaders early on this season," noted Coach Hintermeister.  "I think Ortonville is a favorite from the South sub-section of 6A.  They bring back the most, if not all, of last years team and have very talented players.  In the north half there will be a fight between multiple teams, including Mahnomen/Waubun, Henning, Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal and Hillcrest who all bring back skilled teams.  In the Little Eight, each team has quality players and great coaches.  Ashby, Battle Lake, Hillcrest and Parkers Prairie all look to have strong teams.  Underwood and Rothsay will both be well coached and tough teams to beat, but both programs lost very talented scorers from last year.  The Pheasant Conference will be competitive as well with Hancock, Wheaton, WCA and Hillcrest joining Ortonville in the mix of quality basketball teams."

Hintermeister will be assisted by Jeff AndersonKellen Traphagen and Adam Wagner.
