Wildcats Take Control Early in Homecourt Win Over Spartans

North Dakota State College of Science held M State to just 12 first half points Tuesday night as they handed the Spartans a 108-38 thrashing in Wahpeton. 

 

M State turned the ball over 19 times and made only 14-of-56 (25%) field goal attempts. The Spartans struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 2-of-24 (8.3%) three’s. The Wildcats dominated the boards, 53-19, pulling down 14 offensive rebounds. NDSCS shot 67% (47-70) from the field and made 50% (9-18) of their three-pointers. 

The Wildcats had five players in double figures, led by Duoth Gach with 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting and Oman Oman with 16 points. Damien Gordon had a team high 7 rebounds and three players, Jordan PolyniceIsmail Soumare and Oman Oman grabbed six each. Gare Ewefada dished out five assists. 

Samuel Priem scored 7 points to lead the Spartans. Martin LaFond and Terrance Martin each pulled down 3 rebounds and Austin Miller had 2 assists. 

M State will open their home season on Friday night against Central Lakes Community College at 7:30pm in Fergus Falls. The Spartan Buddies will perform at halftime of the game.
