The Barnesville girls basketball team will have a tough act to follow in the 2018-19 season.  The Trojans have won back-to-back Heart O' Lakes Conference titles and lost in the Section 8AA semifinals a year ago to state runner-up, Roseau.  Barnesville lost five players from that team that finished 22-6, including two who are continuing to play basketball at the college level, Nicole Herbranson (MSUM) and Emma Nielsen (NDSCS).

Returning letter winners include seniors Elora Passa (F), Claire Meyer (G), Wylie Lewis (G/F) and Kaitlyn Maesse (F).

The Trojans will be looking to sophomores Sam Passa (G), Kim Maesse (G), Olivia Sorenson (F) and freshmen Emily Bredman (F), Lauren Halverson (F) and Lexi Bolgrean (G) to step in and contribute at the varsity level.

"We will be young with a lot of potential," stated Head Coach Ryan Bomstad, now in his seventh year at the helm.  "This is a group of players that seem to get along very well on and off the court.  This team will continue to grow as the season goes on.  The Heart O' Lakes Conference is so difficult night in and night out, and so balanced that it prepares you for all kinds of styles you will see in the post season.  Hopefully, with a little luck, and if we can stay healthy, we could be in the mix come late February and early March.  I think the HOL is just to close to call, but Roseau has to be considered the Section favorite."

Bomstad will be assisted by Aaron Schindler and Alli Skogen.
