The Rothsay girls basketball team will return six letter winners, including four seniors from the 2017-18 team.  Coach Anita Heier enters her fourth year as head coach for the Tigers and will be assisted by Lori Tillman and Ann Anderson.

"We watched a lot of young kids grow and develop as a basketball player last season," said Heier.  "They had a 'play hard and never give up' attitude all season."

Seniors Rachel Brenden (Post), Cora Honer (Post), Emily Christ (Guard) and Jenny Collins (Guards), and juniors Jayna Gronewold (Guard-All Conference) and Jenna Fabre (Guard) are returning letter winners.

Sophomore Grace Lider (Guard) and freshmen Summer Wigdahl (Post), Chase Balken (Guard) and Abby Honer (Post) are varsity newcomers.

"Our strength this year will be our depth," added Heier.  "We played a lot of young kids last year and that will only help with some experience this year.  An area we need to continue to improve on is our shooting percentage.  We look to keep improving every day in practice and in games.  We have a great group of senior leaders this year and that will be key in getting all our young players up to speed."

Coach Heier sees Parkers Prairie and Underwood as the top teams in the Little Eight Conference, with Ada-Borup, Pelican Rapids and Wheaton as top geams in Section 6A.
