The Perham Yellowjackets and Fergus Falls Otters battled through five intense, competitive sets of playoff volleyball on Thursday night before Perham prevailed. Perham won set one 25-23, Fergus Falls took set two 27-25, Perham won set three 25-23, Fergus Falls won set four 27-25 and Perham won set five 16-14 to advance to a Section 8AA quarterfinal match at Pequot Lakes on Friday night.
Perham had a balanced attack at the net, led by Ilona Raitis with 17 kills and Bradlyn Gniffke with 12 kills. Stella Raser added 9 kills and 4 blocks and Lily DeBoer contributed 8 kills.
Lily Pearson had a game high 22 kills and 6 blocks to lead the Otters. Sabrina Fronning finished with 13 kills, 27 digs and a 26-for-27 night on the serving line and Jade Zierden added 11 kills, 17 digs, a 16-for-17 serving night and 3 aces. Defensively, Emma Norgard had 30 digs, Kaia Strom had 24 digs and Hallie Sheridan added 16 digs. Norgard was 18-for-19 on the serving line and Strom distributed 52 set assists.
