Beachy Throws for 307 Yards and 4 TDs in Perham Victory

Jenson Beachy threw for 307 yards and 4 touchdowns on Friday night, leading the Perham Yellowjackets to a 46-13 victory over D-G-F, while replacing Jordan Heinas the all-time leader in total offensive yardage in a career for Perham.

Beachy connected with Colton Hackel on a 68 yard scoring toss one minute into the game to give the home team a 6-0 lead. At 8:07 of the opening quarter Beachy hit Josh Jeziorski with a 14 yard aerial and Beachy then scored the two point conversion to give Perham a 14-0 lead. At 5:51 Hackel returned a punt 60 yards for a score to increase the lead to 20-0.

In the second quarter, Joey Kohler hauled in a 4 yard TD pass from Aiden Leachand Jacob Strand added the extra point kick to get the Rebels on the board. Kohler’s second TD of the night came with 1:19 left in the half on a 3 yard run, trimming the Perham lead to 20-13.

Jeziorski caught his second TD pass of the night with 3:59 left in the third quarter as he was on the receiving end of a six yard toss from Beachy. A Dawson Kelloggtwo point conversion run expanded the Yellowjackets lead to 28-13. Beachy then fired a 34 yard pass to Zack Peterson for another score with 1:15 left in the third. Beachy ran for the two point conversion and a 36-13 advantage on the scoreboard.

The fourth quarter saw Hackel nail a 23 yard field goal and Isaac VanWatermulenrecover a fumble in the end zone to end the scoring. Hackel’s PAT kick put the final score at 46-13.

Jeziorski (6 receptions, 55 yards), Finn Diggins (6 catches, 55 yards) and Peterson (4 catches, 98 yards) were the leading receivers for Perham, while Beachy led the rushing attack with 96 yards on 12 carries. He was 16-for-21 passing the football.

Defensively, Hackel, Peterson and Dawson Stevens led the team with 7 tackles each, and Leighton Rach had an interception.

Leaders for D-G-F were Michael Gonzalez (21 rushes, 58 yards), Kohler (2 catches, 66 yards) and Leach (4-of-11, 71 yards). Carter Bohn and Carter Schmidt each recorded a sack.

Perham (5-2) will end their regular season schedule in Park Rapids on Wednesday.
