The Fergus Falls defense held Park Rapids Area to 118 yards on Friday night and quarterback Ethan Olson hooked up with Nic Pearson for a pair of touchdown passes to lead the Otters to a 13-12 victory over the Panthers.

"This was a great defensive battle," said Fergus Falls Head Coach Steve Olson.  "We knew going into the game that Park Rapids had a very good defense and that certainly proved to be true. Our defense played big tonight and got us out of some tough spots."

Fergus Falls got on the board first when Pearson hauled in a 43 yard pass from Olson in the first quarter.  Park Rapids tied the game on a 31 yard interception return by Spencer Fritze.

A bad snap on an Otter punt gave the Panthers the ball on the thirteen yard line in the second quarter and they were able to capitalize on that break when Cody Dravis carried the ball into the end zone from the one yard line.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Otters took advantage of a turnover when Parker Jacobs recovered a fumble on the 42 yard line.  Seven plays later Olson hit Pearson with a five yard scoring toss.  Shane Wahlund broke the tie by booting the extra point.

Chase Jensen had 86 rushing yards and Pearson had 89 receiving yards to lead the Otters.  Fergus Falls finished with 218 yards of offense.

The Otters will finish their regular season schedule with a road game against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton next Wednesday.
