In a bizarre set of circumstances, heavy rains the past few days forced the final home game of the year, between Pelican Rapids and Fergus Falls, to be moved to Fergus Falls, where Pelican Rapids wore their home uniforms and were listed as the home team while playing in the visitors' stadium.

"We are extremely grateful to both Coach Ness and the Fergus Falls schools for hosting our final home game on their field turf as it allowed Brown's Field some reprieve ahead of our upcoming home playoff game," said Vikings Head Coach John Peter after the game.

Pelican opened the scoring early with goals from Farhan Omar, Oscar Diaz, Abdinasir Mohamed, and Habram Martinez to put the score at 4-0 at the half. In the second half the Otters got an early goal back when the Vikings defense got isolated and the Otters capitalized on the opportunity as Jacob Gerhardson scored from Titus Seland. Another goal from Omar, and goals from Alan Villagomez and Mohamed Isse (2) brought the final score to 8-1.

"It was a tough night," said Fergus Falls Head Coach Steven Ness.  "I thought we did a lot of things well, but had trouble getting the ball into the net.  Pelican crashed the nets well and we weren't always marked up which led to some goals that shouldn't have happened."

Fergus Falls (3-12-1) will be going on the road for the first round of the playoffs on Thursday with their opponent yet to be determined.

The Vikings end the season with their best regular season record they have achieved in their 3 seasons (8-3-2), and now they prepare for to host an opening round game on Thursday.

In JV action, the Vikings won 3-1 and completed their season with a record of 7-4-1.
