The Hillcrest Comets Boys Soccer Team defeated the Detroit Lakes Lakers by the score of 6-0 on Thursday at HLA.

Just three minutes into the contest, Iver Honningdal chipped a pass over the Laker defense to Markus Fluge, who buried the ball in the right corner of the net.  Three minutes later, Senior Tri-Captain Nick Foss, threw in a long ball from the right sideline to Marcus Fluge.  Markus made a no look pass to the top of the box where Eirik Primavera picked it up.  Eirik took the ball to the left side of the box and scored with a left footed blast.  At ten minutes, Nick Foss scored with a one touch shot in the box off a Markus Fluge corner kick.  At 21 minutes, Iver Honningdal gathered the ball in the midfield behind the half and carried it forward, slicing and dicing, all the way into the box and scored, ending the half with the Comets up by four goals.  Fifteen minutes into the second half, Iver Honningdal was fouled in the box.  Markus Fluge scored on the resultant PK.  At 59 minutes, Nick Foss scored with a header off a Markus Fluge corner kick.  Comet goal keepers, Mervin Makundi and Ethan Ness combined for the Comet shutout stopping eight shots on goal.

“The Comets came out ready to play today and showed some aggressive defense, smothering the Lakers attacks,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Rod Jensen.  “We saw excellent field defense and ball pressure from Senior Tri-Captain, HeeTae NamKenneth MurageTrevor Antuna and Alexander Knutson.”

The Comets now 9-4, take on the conference leaders, Bemidji, on Saturday at home.
