The Brandon-Evansville volleyball team recorded a 3-0 (25-9, 25-19, 25-12) Little Eight Conference victory over the Rothsay Tigers on Thursday night in Evansville.

“Tonight’s match was all about offensive and defensive balance,” commented B-E Head Coach Kelly Olson. “We wanted to spread the ball out and keep them guessing. We wanted to keep our defensive rotations evenly spread to cover the tips. Our players did a great job of those two things all night. We had a little momentum shift in the second set when I thought we got flat, but we rebounded nicely in the third set. Those two keys led to a side percentage of 68%, and a 52% first serve side out. We kept the ball in our hands most of the night and we did a great job of moving forward.”

Bailey Schaefer (9 kills, 11/11 serving, 4 aces), Mikenna Pattrin (6 kills), Madison Quinn (30 set assists, 3 blocks, 11/11 serving, 1 ace), Korrie Randt(13/14 serving, 4 aces), Sara Jacobson (4 digs, 2 kills, 9/11 serving, 1 ace) and Kailee Klimek (2 kills, 2 digs, 14/14 serving, 2 aces) led the Chargers.

"We had a hard time setting up th eball in th efirst set and then when we got into the swing of things, we struggled at the net," reported Tigers Head Coach Kim Braaten.  "We did make improvements as the games went on, even if the score didn't reflect it.  Our outside hitter, Emily Christ, had an awesom game tonight.  She's a smart player on the court and makes some big plays for us.  Along with her, Grace Lider led a chain of serves for us which helped us change the momentum a bit.  We will try to look forward and grow together as we get ready for our Block Out Cancer match against Parkers Prairie next Tuesday."
