The Barnesville lady Trojans recorded a 3-1 Heart O’ Lakes Conference road win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Thursday night, posting a 25-17, 19-25, 25-21, 25-19 victory.

“We started off with a couple tough serves and passing the ball well on the net in the first set,” said Barnesville Head Coach Megan Askegaard. “We wanted to try and keep them out of system to avoid them getting an attack on the net. Our block was a little off in the first set, however we made some adjustments early and got some nice touches on some of their attacks. Set 2 we came out a little flat and riding the volleyball rollercoaster. We let our mistakes hang over us and we didn’t communicate well with each other out on the court. DGF attacked us and we didn't come firing back. Lauren Halverson came in off the bench to spark us in the front row with her big block. We played better defense in the 3 and 4th set and cruised our way to victory. Nice team effort in the 4th set tonight with plenty of energy from the crowd, bench and team to help propel us to the win.”

Elora Passa (14 kills, 11/11 serving, 1 ace, 18 digs), Samantha Passa (8 kills, 11/11 serving, 2 aces, 14 digs, 2 blocks), Emily Condon (8 kills, 18/19 serving, 12 digs), Claire Meyer (7 kills, 10/10 serving, 1 ace), Kya Anderson (17 digs, 20/20 serving, 3 aces) and Kimberly Maesse (21 set assists, 18/20 serving, 4 aces, 9 digs) were the statistical leaders for the Trojans.

Barnesville will have their first weekend off since the start of the season. They will host Wadena-Deer Creek on Monday night.
