The Rothsay Tigers traveled to Graceville to face the Wolverines of Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley in a Friday matinee contest.  C-G-B recorded a 28-14 victory over the Tigers.

Rothsay received the opening kickoff and marched down the field, scoring on a 3 yard run and taking a 6-0 lead.

The Wolverines fumbled on their first offensive play and gave Rothsay a chance to increase their lead, however the C-G-B defense made some adjustments and forced a quick punt.  The home team tied the game by converting a touchdown on a fourth down play to pull even with Rothsay at 6-6.  The next Tiger possession looked promising, but the Wolverine defense stopped the Tigers on a fourth and one and the game remained 6-6 at the half.

"Our defense played well in the first half," said Rothsay Head Coach Josh Nordick.  "We got them out of rhythm and they didn't have much success.  Our offense drove the ball but couldn't finish drives."

In the second half the Wolverines converted another fourth down for a touchdown and after a successful two point play they led 14-6.  C-G-B increased their lead to 20-6 later in the third quarter and then scored again in the fourth quarter, taking a 28-6 lead.  Rothsay scored their second TD of the game and added a two point conversion to put the final at 28-14.

"We didn't convert," said Coach Nordick.  "We had our chances to stop them a few times and had our chances to convert on offense and didn't.  A few plays, a key injury to our team could have flipped the score, but the Wolverines earned this victory."

The Tigers were led on offense by Jacob Christ and Ethan Curtis who scored their touchdowns.  Christ, Curtis and Karsyn Zilmer were the defensive leaders with nine tackles each.
