Sophie Rausch scored three goals on Thursday night as the Fergus Falls girls soccer team recorded a 4-2 win at East Grand Forks.

The Green Wave scored eight minutes into the game, but the Otters came back with the next four goals to open up a 4-1 halftime advantage.  Rausch scored her first goal when she received a pass from Ellie Anderson and split the defense, beating the keeper.  Seventeen minutes later Rausch scored on a header from Mady Eklund's corner kick.  Eight minutes after that Sophie gained possession of the ball and ocne again drove hard to the net, scoring her third of the night.  With eighteen seconds left in the half Rausch took a corner kick and Anna Anderson put it in.

East Grand Forks scored six minutes into the half to cut the lead to 4-2, but that concluded the scoring.

"Tonight's game was a physical contest," commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  "Both teams played very hard.  Getting on the board the way we did in the first half was huge as it allowed us to play a much more defensive game in the second half.  As a coaching staff we are so proud of the effort oour girls have put in this week.  They have a lot to be proud of."
