The Rothsay Tigers hosted Ashby on Thursday night and beat the Arrows 3-0 (25-6, 25-22, 25-10).

“Our girls played so well together and were very in-sync,” commented Head Coach Kimberly Braaten of the Tigers. “Our ladies tonight played together, played smart, and were excellent teammates to each other. I am so incredibly proud of these girls, not only for the win, but being able to want to make changes for the benefit of the team as a whole is amazing. Tonight was senior night for our team and I just want to say again how incredibly blessed myself and the team is for the four of them (Reygan BalkenEmily ChristRachel Brenden, and Cora Honer). They are always working hard on and off the court and are incredible leaders for our team.”

The Tigers were led by Chase Balken (2 aces, 1 kill, 9 assists), Emily Christ (1 ace, 6 kills), Grace Lider (2 aces, 1 assist), Jenna Fabre (3 aces, 7 kills, 2 blocks, 9 assists), Kenadi Carlsrud (2 kills, 3 blocks) and Rachel Brenden (1 ace, 7 kills, 2 blocks).

“Overall, our team came out tonight to win and play together and it makes an extreme difference in our play,” said Coach Braaten. “I appreciate the effort made by Ashby. Those girls work hard no matter what is happening on their side and that’s a hard thing to do when things aren’t working the way you would want them too. They are well coached for sure and are a scrappy team.”
