The Hillcrest Comets Boys Soccer Team rallied in the second half to defeat the Little Falls Flyers by the score of 3-2 on Saturday in Little Falls.

The Flyers came out in the first half with several offensive attacks, keeping the ball primarily in the Comet defensive end.  At eighteen minutes, Comet left D back, Jowell Seymour, was called for a trip in the box.  LF captain, Oscar Norgren, converted the opportunity into a goal.  Seven minutes later, the attacking Flyers scored on a Comet defensive miscue, resulting in a two goal deficit for the Comets going into the half.  At 56 minutes, Markus Fluge scored with blistering shot off a pass from Iver Honningdal.  At 66 minutes, Markus Fluge found Eiric Primaveraon the left touchline.  Eiric slipped in behind the LF defenders and placed a shot off a defenders heal into the back of the net, tying the score at two apiece.  Just three minutes later, Eiric Primavera, placed a beautiful pass behind the LF defense.  Markus Fluge was there to collect and score the go ahead goal, ending all scoring with the Comets up a goal.

The Comets outshot the Flyers by a margin of eight to seven.

“The wind was a tremendous deterrent in the first half for the Comets, but, the team knew that going into halftime, and came back for the win,” said Head coach Rod Jensen.  “I thought our team stepped up from the opening whistle and played hard with much better team defense then previous games.  We saw tremendous defensive efforts from Senior Tri Captains Nick Foss and Camden Hoganson, also, Kenneth Murage, Jowell Seymour, and James Cho.  That’s seven of our previous games, where the Comets have been down a goal or two from the start.  Our team showed heart and determination to come back from behind in this victory.”

The Comets now 6-3, travel to Crookston on Tuesday for a conference matchup with the Pirates.
