Tuesday night Rothsay hosted Battle Lake in a Little Eight Conference matchup with the Battlers recording a 3-1 (17-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-20) victory.

“The girls played much more consistently tonight which allowed us to control most of the match,” reported Battle Lake Head Coach Jenny Roisum. “We are still working on bringing down our number of unforced errors, but tonight was a good team win.”

Allison Marso led the Battlers with 24 kills and 3 blocks. Kate Christensen had a strong night with8 kills and 21-for-22 serving with 5 aces. Hailey Smith had 12 digs and was 18-for-20 serving. Makenna Tysdal also had 12 kills and was 20-for-22 serving.

The Battlers next match is at home against Parkers Prairie on Thursday.

“It was a bit of a tough loss, especially for our homecoming game, but the girls never gave up,” stated Rothsay Head Coach Kim Braaten. “I am fortunate to have a group of girls who are striving to play together rather than apart. Major players of the game were Jayna GronewoldJenna FabreKenadi Carlsrud, and Grace Lider. Battle Lake is a solid team, I am excited to work on the things we need to work on to play them on their court. Our team is growing as individuals, players, and as a team. I can’t ask for much more than that.”

The next match for the Tigers will be at Underwood next Tuesday night.
