Underwood was defeated by Henning in a non-conference volleyball match on Tuesday night in Underwood. The Rockets won the first two sets 25-20 and 29-27, however, the Hornets took the next three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 15-12.

“We played much better tonight than we did last night, so that is a plus,” said Underwood Head Coach Diane Ross.  “We need to continue to work on our communication and energy.  I was happy how we were able to close out a win in set 2, with the score tied 27-27, freshmen Josey Bugbee scored two kills in a row. We let down in set 3, but started set four very strong, we took an early 5-0 lead behind the serving of Isabel Dahl, we seemed to have good control of the set, but we didn't make the plays when we needed.  Henning did a good job on defense, it was tough to find the floor on their side of the court.  As a team, we passed the ball on serve receive well. Kayla Rocholl was 42/44, Isabel Dahl was 19/22, and Morgan Evavold was 24/24.”

Serving well for the Rockets was Isabel Dahl 22/23 with 3 aces and Daityn Beske19/19, along with 28 set assists, Emma Fitzgibbons had 23 kills, 16 assists, 19 digs, and 4 ace blocks, Shaynah Smith added 9 kills and 8 blocks, Ally Johnsonalso had 9 kills and 7 ace blocks. Brooke Hovland had 6 kills and 3 ace blocks.

Underwood is 7-4 on the season and will participate in the Minnesota Class A showcase tourney at the Midwest Volleyball Warehouse on Friday and Saturday.
