Cowboys Improve to 4-0 with 32-0 Shutout of Crookston

The Breckenridge defense held Crookston to four first downs and 141 yards of offense on Friday night as the Cowboys shutout the Pirates by the score of 32-0.

The Cowboys ran for 257 yards and passed for 108 giving them a total of 365 yards. Cooper Yaggie completed 4-of-12 pass attempts and threw for a pair of touchdowns. Leading receivers were Tyson Piechowski (2 catches, 95 yards, 1 TD) and Jaxon Weinbar (1 catch, 13 yards, 1 TD). Hunter Feigum led the ground attack with 159 yards on 15 carries and Caden McGough ran for 55 yards on 9 attempts. Both backs scored for the Cowboys.

Breckenridge took a 6-0 lead when McGough scored on a 12 run in the first quarter and extended their lead to 12-0 with a 79 yard touchdown pass from Yaggie to Piechowski in the second quarter.

In the third quarter Breckenridge scored on an 85 yard kickoff return and Charles Boldingh kicked the extra point. Feigum added a third quarter TD on a 25 yard run to make it 25-0.

A fourth quarter TD pass from Yaggie to Weinbar covered 13 yards and Boldingh’s PAT kick ended the scoring.

Piechowski and Connor Twidwell each recorded a sack and Feigum was the leader in tackles with 7.

Breckenridge, ranked ninth in Class 2A, improved their season record to 4-0. They will travel to Hawley to face the Nuggets next Friday night.
