The Rothsay football team will be strong up front, but were hurt by the loss of District MVP and All-State running back Wyatt Curtis, now playing at Concordia College in Moorhead, and All-District players Levi Foss and Riley Larson

Seniors Parker Keep (OL/DL), Tanner Keep (OL/DL) and Braden Moen (OL/DL) will anchor the line on both sides of the ball. They are joined by seniors Jacob Christ (RB/LB) and Thomas Webster (RB/LB) as returning starters for the Tigers.

Junior Ethan Curtis (RB/LB) and sophomores Colby Larson (RB/LB) and Karsyn Zilmer (OL/LB) will be counted on to step into varsity roles immediately.

“We lost quite a bit of leadership and experience,” stated Head Coach Joshua Nordick. “On the offensive side of the ball we do return three starters on the line and have some athletes with some experience. In the backfield we only return one starter but we have some speed and strength at the position. On the defensive side, we are forced to put in a new defense due to losing five linebackers and using our strong defensive line to our advantage.”

Nordick, now in his third year, will be assisted by Joe Bromenshenkel, Joel Meyer and Jamie Nordick

Favorites in District competition are Brandon-Evansville, Verndale and Hancock, while Ulen-Hitterdal/Norman County East and Nevis are Nordick’s picks to top Section 6-9 Man.
