Strong senior leadership coupled with good young talent could be a winning formula for the 2018 Perham volleyball team.

"We are a very mixed team this year with senior leadership and some very young talent coming in," reported Head Coach Eryn Moser.  "A definite strength will our bench.  Some of our positions will be three to four girls deep, which we have never had.  Our biggest challenge will be in finding our go-to-girls.  We lost two key players (Gabby DeBoer-MSUM, Hannah Ekse-M State) we relied on to score a lot of points for us and we will be looking for some girls who are hungry to fill those positions."

Seniors Allie King (Setter), Lisa Meader (Libero), Laura Altstadt (Outside Hitter), Rachel Muer (Outside Hitter), Grace DeBoer (Right Side Hitter), Mesa Schultz (Right Side Hitter) and Tayler Parks (Defensive Specialist) will fill leadership roles on and off the court for the Yellowjackets.

Coach Moser will also be looking to juniors Kaylie Kirkenwitz (Right Side Hitter) and Katie Zepper (Outside Hitter/Middle Hitter), and sophomores Lily DeBoer (Middle Hitter) and Bradlyn Gniffke (Middle Hitter) to step into varsity roles.

Nikki Bruns and Katarina Kuhlmann will assist Moser.

Moser points to Park Rapids as the top team in Section 8AA and Barnesville as the number one challenger in the Heart O' Lakes Conference.
