Former assistant coach Nate Wood takes over the reigns for the West Central Area/Ashby Football team as former coach Jon Moore has accepted an administration position in Ashby.  Wood will also serve as Offensive Coordinator and will be assisted by Todd Hickman (Defensive Coordinator), Eric Schoenbauer, Peter Nelson and Andy Peterson.

The Knights won the Section 6AA title by avenging a regular season loss to Pillager in the championship game, qualifying for the state tournament for the first time since 1999.  They lost fourteen seniors to graduation, including veteran two-way starters Ross Anderson, Brady Sabolik, Kaden Spindler, Dawson Staples, Parker Clavin, Logan Paulson and Mason Nibbe.

Seniors Tanner Bennett (FB/MLB), Ben Johnsrud (C/DL), Gavin Paulson (DE), Scottie Johnson (DE) and Wyatt Olson (OL) are returning starters for the Knights.

Senior Isaiah Sykora (QB/DB), juniors Gage Staples (WR/DB) and Devin Stone (OL/DL) and sophomore Jaden Norby (RB/LB) are all expected to step into key varsity roles.

"This is a very coachable, hard-working, disciplined group," stated Coach Wood.  "Summer workouts have had very positive attendance.  The team has an understanding of what we want to accomplish.  Weakness would be lack of game experience. How will we respond in the fast-paced situation of varsity games is the question."

Wood tabs Pillager as once again the team to beat in Section 6AA.
