Border West held off Ortonville on Monday night, claiming a 68-67 road win over the Trojans. Sam Rinke had a big night for the Bucs, scoring 30 points, securing 8 rebounds, coming away with 3 steals, and dishing out 3 assists. Tayton Schmidt was also in double digits with 17 points. He also had 7 rebounds. Assist leaders were Connor Klindworth and Logan Hennessy with 4 each. Klindworth also had 8 points and Grady Fischer finished with 6 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists.
The Buccaneers shot 49% (27-55) from the field and went 12-for-16 (75%) from the free throw line. They also commanded the boards, 40-24. Ortonville made 43% (26-58) of their field goal attempts.
Border West (8-9) will travel to Parkers Prairie for their next game on Tuesday, February 10.
