Kellen Shebeck begins his fourth year as head coach of the Underwood Rockets needing to replace All-Conference players Hudson Risbrudt and Levi Wilson, along with Owen Harig (Baseball at Valley City State) and Kaleb Hammes. The good news for Shebeck is he has three starters returning and some depth behind them.
Drew Evavold (SR, G), Ayden Olson (SR, G) and Max Grove (JR, F) are the returning starters. Dax Risbrudt (JR, G) and Grady Shebeck (SO, G) were letter winners a year ago. Seniors Gabe Linstrom (C), Rowan Finseth (F) and Jakoby Shebeck (G), and juniors Kaden Schmieg (G), Brady Saurer (G), John Gronner (G) and Carter Knutson (JR, F) will also be looking for varsity court time.
“We have a well-rounded group of players who understand the game and complement each other very well,” said Coach Shebeck.
Assisting Coach Shebeck are Drew Pearson, Aaron Grove, Jake Risbrudt and Nate Holleman.
Pelican Rapids, Henning, West Central Area and Park Christian are Shebeck's favorites in Section 6A, while the Little Eight Conference has many teams he expects to be in the championship hunt.
