The Hillcrest volleyball team claimed the Championship at the KLN Invitational on Saturday in Perham, beating the host team 2-1 (21-25, 25-11, 18-16) in the title match. Senior Ella Knutson reached 1000 career digs in the tournament, joining Mackenzie Foss as the only two Comets to accomplish that feat.
"It was a long day for the girls, but a great tournament for us in so many ways," stated Hillcrest Head Coach Debi Foss. "We faced some tough competition and found ways to work together to get the win. It’s exciting to see the girls continue to rise to a higher level of play each time they step on the court. A special highlight of the day was celebrating Senior Ella Knutson’s 1000th career dig, which she achieved during our match against Thief River Falls! What an awesome milestone—congrats, Ella!
