Fergus Falls Post 30 fell twice at home on Wednesday to Bemidji on a night that celebrated 100 Years of Legion Baseball at Legion Field.  Bemidji won the first game 10-2 and took the nightcap, 11-8 in 8 innings.

Game 1: Bemidji 10, Post 30 2
Bemidji struck early, plating two runs in the top of the first and adding five more in the second, never allowing Post 30 to climb back into contention. Isaac Ellison got the start and gave up 11 hits and eight runs (seven earned), walking two and striking out two. Bemidji out-hit Fergus Falls 12-10, and while Post 30 tallied double-digit hits, they were unable to string them together effectively. Levi King (3-for-4) and Hunter Powers (2-for-3, 2B, BB) led the offense for Post 30.

Head Coach Shane Thielke on the games:
"I'm proud of our guys for battling back tonight in what was a tough night for us at home. We just gave up way too many runs to a really good team, and that put us in a position where we were fighting from behind all night. I was really happy with how we hit the ball overall. Defensively, the field played pretty tough for both teams, and we just fell short of completing a comeback in that second game.

We really wanted to show our fans and everyone who came out to the ballpark what we’re capable of—and tonight just didn’t go the way we would’ve liked. We hit the ball hard all night, but it seemed like the soft contact kept falling in for hits. Credit to Bemidji—they made the plays they needed to and kept pressure on our pitchers. Good teams capitalize on mistakes, and we just made too many tonight.”

Game 2: Bemidji 11, Post 30 8 (8 innings)
Game 2 began similarly, with Bemidji building a 6-1 lead over the first three innings. However, Post 30 showed resilience, scoring seven runs over the final three frames to force extras. In the 8th, Bemidji capitalized on three walks and pushed across three runs, and Post 30 couldn’t respond in the bottom half. Fergus Falls out-hit Bemidji 12-10 in the nightcap, with offensive leaders including Powers (2-for-4), Brant Scheuerman (2-for-4), Cam Wiederich (2-for-4), and Jacob Fronning (2-for-4).

Levi King got the start in Game 2 and pitched well through seven innings, allowing 10 hits and 8 runs (6 earned), while walking three and striking out two. Carston Fronning entered in relief in the 8th and took the loss, allowing two earned runs and walking two.
