Nathan Kenjalo (3.2IP, 7K, 2BB, 2H, 2R, 2ER) was the winning pitcher on Tuesday night as the Fergus Falls Hurricanes posted a 6-2 win over the Sabin Mets to improve their record to 5-1 in the Red River Amateur Baseball League.  Kenjalo came on in relief of starter Alex Hexum in the fifth inning and Darn Stanislawaski came on in the eighth to close out the victory.  “Canes pitchers dominated throughout the game and we were able to score some runs early, allowing us to cruise to a solid win,” stated manager Davy Johnson.

Fergus Falls got on the board in the first inning when Carter Thielke led off with a walk, stole second and scored on a base hit by Hexum.  The Canes made it 2-0 in the second as Austin Stanislawski reached with a one-out single, took second base on a ground out and scored on a Thielke single.

A 4-run third inning game the home team some breathing room.  Darin Stanislawski reached on a one-out single, Adam Johnson was hit by a pitch and Pete Gaustad reached on an error to load the bases.  Ethan Gronwold delivered a 2-run single, Gaustad scored on a wild pitch and Jonathan Griffin drove in Gronwold with a double.

Fergus Falls will play the Moorhead Mudcats on Sunday at 5:00pm in Barnesville.
