Perham took control of their softball game in Fergus Falls on Monday when they scored 13 runs in the second inning to overcome an early 3-2 deficit. The Yellowjackets went on to post a 21-8 victory over the Otters, collecting 19 hits in the game and capitalizing on 12 Fergus Falls errors in the game, leading to 9 unearned runs.
“Another solid pitching performance from senior pitcher Autumn Branchaud (3IP, 4H, 3R, 2ER, 4BB, 1K),” reported head coach Kevin Feldt of the Yellowjackets. “We took advantage of Fergus Falls miscues and limited our own resulting in another solid team performance!
Senior Captain, Morgan Smith led Perham at the plate, going 3-4 with a single, a double, a triple, 4 runs scored and 7 RBI. Freshman, Ava Tobkin contributed 6 RBI of her own with a pair of doubles. Aveah Grismer (2-5, 2B, 2SB, RBI, 3R) and Mari Pulver (2-4, 3SB, RBI, 2R) were also key in the offensive attack for Perham.
“The girls continue to learn, grow and compete at high level,” noted Coach Feldt. “They are playing some of their best ball at the right time of the season!”
Kendal Hanson (2-2, 3B, 2RBI, 2R) and Halle Price (2-3, 2 2B, 3RBI) were the top hitters for Fergus Falls.
