Fergus Falls High School graduate Rylynn Krein was recently named the Pitcher of the Week in the Mon-Dak Conference. Krein is a right-handed freshman from Miles Community College in Miles City, Montana. The Pioneers are off to a perfect 8-0 start in the Mon-Dak and have an overall record of 20-8.
Krein improved her season record to 5-3 with a complete game shutout of Lake Region State College on March 22, allowing just 3 hits, while striking out 8 batters and walking two. She also went 2-for-5 at the plate with a run batted in and a run scored. The next day Krein came on in relief with the bases loaded and a two outs in the seventh inning and Miles CC leading by one run. She recorded a strikeout to end the threat and earn the save.
Her ERA for the week was 0.00 and opposing hitters hit just .125 against her. Rylynn is second in the Mon-Dak with 6 wins, and in strikeouts with 66. She also is third in hitting with an average of .478 and tied for the lead in runs batted in with 28.
