The Underwood girls’ basketball team led 44-10 at halftime Monday night in Henning and went on to defeat the Hornets, 64-30 in a non-conference contest. “We got off to a great start offensively, and shot the ball well in the first half making 19-of-32 shots,” said Underwood head coach Brian Hovland. “Second half we didn’t do as good a job moving the ball around, we settled for the first look rather than the best look.”
The Rockets were led by Emma Dirkman (16 points, 3 rebounds), Kallyn Grove (11 points, 7 rebounds), Mily Albjerg (10 points, 3 rebounds) and Trinity Baker (10 points, 4 rebounds, 5 steals, 6 assists). Lauren Hexum chipped in with 8 points.
Underwood (17-3) will host Battle Lake in a Little Eight Conference contest on Tuesday night.
Henning will host Wadena-Deer Creek on Thursday.
