The Pelican Rapids Vikings continued their winning ways, securing a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against the Fergus Falls Otters on Tuesday night. After a back-and-forth match, the Vikings (7-4-0) found a way to edge the Otters (5-9-1), building on their recent form and showcasing their resilience in another well-fought contest.

Fergus Falls struck first at the 10:10 mark when Jadan Heikes dribbled through three Viking defenders before passing to Matthew Tuel, who launched a high-arcing shot over Viking goalkeeper Kenerth Carrasco to put the Otters ahead 1-0. Minutes later, the Vikings responded. After a Fergus Falls throw-in hit the post, Sidiiq Farah cleared the ball to Jharol Chavez, who played a pass to Kevin Mendoza. Mendoza surged forward and struck a powerful 35-yard shot that the Otters goalkeeper got a hand on but couldn't keep out, leveling the score at 1-1 before halftime.

The second half saw more action, as the Otters took the lead again at the 17:30 mark. Zane Kollman sent a through ball to Marshall Fellbaum for a shot across the face of goal that Carrasco couldn't stop to make it 2-1. However, Pelican Rapids quickly responded, earning a penalty when Carlos Moreno was brought down in the box. Captain Sidiiq Farah calmly converted from the spot, tying the game at 2-2 with 13:38 remaining.

With just under five minutes left, the Vikings completed their comeback. Abdi Aden intercepted a pass and played the ball forward to Mohamed Abdi, who found a slashing Tyler Porto. Porto’s shot sailed past the Fergus Falls goalkeeper, giving Pelican Rapids a decisive 3-2 lead. The Vikings will now look to avenge their early-season loss to Hillcrest Lutheran Academy as they prepare to face the Comets in the regular season finale as well as the finale to the Pelican Rapids Homecoming week.
