Fergus Falls American Legion Post 30 continued district playoffs in the winners bracket vs Alexandria Thursday night.  Alexandria prevailed by the score of 3-2, sending Fergus Falls to an elimination game against Perham at 1:30pm Friday.

Levi King started on the mound and continued to pitch well in a complete game effort ( 6IP, 6H, 3R,  2ER, 1BB, 4K) .

Leading hitters for Post 30 were Logan Larson (2-4, RBI), Hunter Powers (2-4, RBI) and Isaiah Holmes (1-3, 3B). King, Carston Fronning and Luke Pearson also picked up one hit apiece.

Alexandria jumped out to a 3-0 lead via 2 hits, and one Fergus error. Levi King settled in and did his thing, keeping guys off balance and throwing good quality strikes.

Fergus Falls scored two runs in the 5th. After one out was recorded Isaiah Holmes tripled to deep right field. Larson laid down a perfect bunt single to score Holmes. A King single moved Larson to 3rd base with two outs and a big 2 out hit by Powers scored Larson to bring the score to 3-2.

King would single in the top of the 7th with one out. Alexandria would get the final two outs via a ground out and a strikeout to end the game.

"I can’t say enough about the guys grit and tenacity," said Head Coach Trevor Larson of Post 30. "We got down early once again but kept battling  each at bat until we broke through in the 5th. I’m heart broken for the boys, we had multiple horrible calls that went against us that took that bat out of their hands. Unfortunately, we can’t change calls or feel bad for ourselves. We need to continue to play good baseball and show up tomorrow ready to work and grind out some wins."
