Warriors Bounce Back from Playoff Loss to WCA to Defeat Pelican Rapids

After losing a 12-5 decision to West Central Area in the second round of the Section 6A softball playoffs, Wheaton/Herman-Norcross collected 12 hits in a 12-5 win over Pelican Rapids on Thursday. The win moves the Warriors into an elimination game against Upsala at 3:00pm Tuesday in Morris.

 

In the loss to WCA, Wheaton/Herman-Norcross was led by Addison Blume (2-4, R), Jordyn Perry (1-2, 2B, R) and Sadie Vipond (1-3, RBI, R).  No West Central Area stats were reported.

The Warriors rebounded in their game against the lady Vikings as Perry went all 7 innings, allowing 5 hits, walking 5 batters and striking out 10.  Leaders at the plate were Blume (3-4, 2B, 3B, 2RBI, 3R), Perry (2-4, 2RBI, R), Emily Drewicke (2-2, SB, 2BB, 3RBI, R), Vipond (1-4, 2RBI, R) and Madeline Corey (1-3, SF, R, RBI).  Makayla Bertram (1-4, SB), Hadley Berger (1-3, BB) and Jadyn Kellen (1-4) each scored a run.
