Senior Captain Matthew Knutson scored the lone goal for the Comets seven minutes into the contest with a laser blast from 25 yards, assisted by Zane Holmquist. Three minutes later, Bemidji’s Isaac Stone scored on a corner kick. At 35 minutes, Noah Meyer scored for the Jacks up the middle. Following the goal, he received a red card due to an altercation ensuing. Playing short, the Jacks scored again at 39 minutes and 42 minutes ending all scoring with the Jacks up 4-1.
Bemidji had 16 shots on goal compared to the Comets five.
“The Comets came out flat this afternoon, unlike their appearance Saturday against highly ranked SC Cathedral. It was difficult to watch as Bemidji controlled the entire game. ”
The Comets now 4-4-1 travel to Pelican Rapid Tuesday for a conference and section game against the Vikings.
