Otter Bowlers Sweep at Bemidji

The Fergus Falls bowling team holds first place in the varsity division, with Fergus Falls JV Gold and JV Black tied with Bemidji Blue for the lead in the JV division after two weeks of competition in the North West Conference.

The Otter varsity defeated Wadena, 4-1, in the first match of the day. Nolan Korby was high fill percentage at 90%.  Kyle Korby and Nathaniel Whistleon both filled match two at 80%, in a 5-0 win over Thief River Falls.  Match three was a 5-0 victory over New York Mills, with Kyle Korby leading the team at 80%.

Fergus Falls JV Black beat Bemidji White in their opener, 4-0-1. Kendra Koep was team-high at 80%.  Koep, Josh Rogal, Maddie Price, and Myia Krensing all filled match two at 70%, in a 2-3 loss to FF JV Gold.  JV Black picked up a win over the bye/ghost team, 3-2, in the final match. Koep again led the team, firing another 80%.

Fergus Falls JV Maroon dropped match one to FF JV Gold, 0-5.  Grace Gaines and Owen Foreman led the team, filling at 70%.  JV Maroon came up just short in the bye/ghost team match, losing 2-3. Gaines (80%) and KayLea Weisenberger (70%) were team-high.  JV Maroon lost match three, 0-5, to Bemidji Blue.  Gaines once again led the team, rolling a solid 80%.

Fergus Falls JV Gold lost just two games all day, sweeping all three matches.  Tucker Blevins filled his first high school match at 90%, in the 5-0 win over JV Maroon.  It was Blevins and Kaydence Knutson leading the way in their match two win over FF JV Black, 3-2, with both filling at 80%.  Brayden Haugen (80%) was team-high in a 4-0-1 win over Bemidji White in the finale.

The Otter bowlers will travel to Wadena on Sunday, Sept 24, for their third meet of the season, with competition starting at 11:00am.
